Christine Wrest Smith

Christine is a visual artist whose work is predominately influenced by nature, with much time having been spent in rural Victoria. She works in a variety of media and offers tutoring to groups and private students. Christine is represented by Australian Galleries Melbourne and Sydney.

Tuition

Christine is a professional, full time artist. She completed an Honors degree in Fine Art at Monash University including studies in Italy.

Christine teaches painting and drawing using both perceptual and conceptual methods to develop individual strengths and visual awareness.

Her specialty is portraiture and figurative work. Anatomy of the human body for figurative work may be covered during classes as required.

Traditional and contemporary methods of drawing and painting are discussed in class and students are encouraged to explore the works of a variety of artists and styles.

Students are encouraged to be bold and work confidently, experimenting with a range of media and styles.

Christine is presently having a break from teaching.
